About Our Director

Sway is excited to be home to the directorial debut of Brittany Sparkles, runner-up to Academy Award-winner Mary Steenburgen for Best Actress in the Arkansas Times' 2018 Best of Arkansas poll. Condragulations, Sparkles!

Sparkles has appeared in Sway's production of The Rocky Horror Show twice, as Columbia and Riff Raff, and served as assistant director in 2017. (She also played Janet on another stage - she loves Rocky!) Additionally, Sway audiences have seen her in other contexts, most notably as hostess Sway's 2018 New Queers Eve party.

No stranger to the Little Rock theater community, Sparkles has also been featured on stage at The Studio Theater, The Weekend Theater, Argenta Community Theater, and Murray's Dinner Playhouse. Film credits include The Boo (2018) and Vampire-Killing Prostitute (2016).

A part-time mermaid with Moonstone Mermaids, Sparkles has dabbled in burlesque and is also a performing artist/instructor with Arkansas Circus Arts.
